DOING BETTER

Doing better

Today

Than yesterday.

So many cares

I've tossed away

Into the ocean

Of my devotion.

Lost

In His Sea

They wait not

For me.

They moved out

From shore

And I see them

No more.

I turned

On the sand

And walked away

Towards the Rock

On which I stand

Today.

In His Protection

I find

My direction.

Don't know why

I ever sigh

Knowing He's here

To get me by.

Don't know why

My eyes still weep

Knowing sure

I'm in His Keep.

A brief respite

Is all I get;

A time to heal

So I won't quit.

And here I sit,

Doing better

Today

Than yesterday.

He has calmed

The storm

That came my way;

Preparing me for

Another day.
